Dalrymple issues disaster declaration

BISMARCK (AP) -- Gov. Jack Dalrymple issued a statewide disaster declaration on Friday in preparation for possible spring flooding around the state.

BISMARCK (AP) -- Gov. Jack Dalrymple issued a statewide disaster declaration on Friday in preparation for possible spring flooding around the state.

He cited heavy snowpack and flood outlooks that show the potential for flooding in the Devils Lake, Souris River, Red River, James River and Missouri River basins.

Dalrymple said in a statement that the declaration is a step toward having state resources available and ready when needed.
