Police have identified the man killed while fleeing from a State Patrol trooper on a motorcycle Friday afternoon.
According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune newspaper:
Kenneth Kahle, 23, of Detroit Lakes didn't pull over when a trooper spotted that his 1996 Kawasaki motorcycle didn't have a license plate. He instead sped away from the trooper at the intersection of Washington and Broadway avenues in north Minneapolis.
Kahle turned left on Washington after exiting from I-94, and raced through a red light at Broadway. As the trooper slowed to cross the intersection, Kahle ran another red light two blocks ahead and hit a pickup that was crossing that intersection.
Kahle, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene. It's unclear why he fled, although he did have a revoked Minnesota driver's license, according to the State Patrol.

There is no evidence that the pick-up driver, 39-year-old Jesse Keenan of Minneapolis, did anything wrong. He sustained a minor injury, according to the accident report
