DICKINSON — The Annual Citywide Spring Clean Up Campaign is here, and the residents of Dickinson are invited to participate in keeping their community clean. The campaign will run from May 5-14, and all residents, clubs, schools, churches and businesses are encouraged to participate. The city is hoping to make this year's event the most successful yet, as the recent seasonal weather has left the community littered with garbage and refuse.

Volunteers and groups participating in the campaign can pick up trash bags at the Dickinson Area Chamber of Commerce, Dickinson Parks & Recreation and the Public Safety Center.

After an area has been cleaned, volunteers are asked to contact the Solid Waste and Recycling Department at 701-456-7043 for pickup. The Dickinson Baler Building will be open during the summer months, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

"As residents of Dickinson, we all share a responsibility to keep our city clean and beautiful. That's why The Dickinson Press is proud to be involved in the Annual Citywide Spring Clean Up Campaign," Joy Schoch, Publisher of The Dickinson Press, said. "We encourage everyone to participate. Let's work together to preserve the beauty of our community, and ensure that Dickinson remains the wonderful place we all love and call home."

Those who plan on hauling material to the Baler Building are reminded to ensure their loads are secure. Loose material needs to be covered, and all heavy material should be strapped down. Meanwhile, the city recycling drop site is located at 610 West Broadway and 3389 Energy Drive. The site only accepts unbagged grass and leaves, cardboard and paper. No trash is permitted.
