The students at Dickinson High School are decorating hallways today in preparation for Homecoming Week.
It's an opportunity to show school spirit and to have fun, said Student Body President Jennifer Schnaidt.
"I love homecoming. It's exciting and fun," she said.
Each day of the week has a theme. Monday is Hillbilly Day; Tuesday is Super Hero Day; Wednesday is Rock Star Day; Thursday is Class Theme Day; and Friday is Orange and Black Day.
During Class Theme Day, the seniors may dress as safari hunters, the juniors as game show hosts, the sophomores as Mardi Gras attendees and the freshmen as safari animals.

The week is highlighted by activities on Friday. The DHS Midgets play the Century Patriots in a football game starting at 7 p.m. Half-time is highlighted by coronation of the homecoming king and queen. The DHS Midgettes also perform.
The process of electing homecoming royalty started a week ago when the senior class nominated 24 students for honors. King nominees were Nakoa Baker, Marcus Fridley, Kelly Huffman, Mitchel Kudrna, Evan Bullinger, Derek Graham, Andrew Jahner, McCoy Lupo, Evan Culver, Kyle Herauf, Lance Jenson and Kyle Schroeder.
The queen nominees were Jaineen Anderson, Ashley Lang, Jill Sadowsky, Joan Selle, Tiffany Heim, Lydia Lowe, Elizabeth Sattler, Emalee Unruh, Kendra Hutchens, Kellie Marsh, Jennifer Schnaidt and Whitney Wellenstein.
The election process continued when the junior and senior class narrowed the nominations to 10 candidates.
The queen candidates are Jennifer Schnaidt, Joan Selle, Jill Sadowsky, Kellie Marsh and Jaineen Anderson.
The king candidates are Mitch Kudrna, Kyle Schroeder, Evan Culver, Lance Jenson and Evan Bullinger.
The student body votes for king and queen on Tuesday.
Friday's activities conclude with the homecoming dance and music by K-Hook. It's a semi-formal dance with everyone encouraged to dress up. No dates are required.

Other sporting activities during the week include a volleyball junior varsity tournament in Dickinson on Thursday and a cross country meet on Saturday at Jamestown.
