Dickinson PD investigates deaths, thefts, fights

The Dickinson Police Department is investigating and responded to several crimes and incidents that occurred last weekend, including: 
* A 38-year-old Dickinson woman was found dead in her Enterprise Avenue apartment on Friday evening, Dickinson Police Capt. Dave Wilkie said. There was no apparent self-inflicted wound or foul play in Andrea McKeown’s death. Her body was taken to the state lab in Bismarck to determine cause of death.
* A 19-year old Richardton woman was cited and released for marijuana possession after a traffic stop on Villard Street West downtown, Wilkie said. Heidi Hostler allegedly turned over all illegal substances in her possession to the officer on Friday night.
* Two Dickinson men were cited for vandalism for breaking Halloween decorations along Third Avenue West early Saturday morning, Wilkie said. Casey Koenig, 22, and Shawn Ell, 30, were allegedly caught by officers.
* A Dickinson man was charged with harassment of a 911 emergency and providing false information to a police officer, Wilkie said.  Aaron Massey, 21, allegedly made up a story about a gunshot and a Hispanic male at the My Place Hotel on Saturday morning, drawing officers to the lodge.
* A 61-year-old male was found deceased of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound on Saturday afternoon in a parked vehicle along F Street in Dickinson, Wilkie said. He was identified as James Hawronsky. He had a Dickinson address, but had moved to the area. He was sent to the state lab in Bismarck for an autopsy.
* Causing $10,000 worth of damage to another person’s house netted 42-year-old Tracy Houle of Dickinson two felony charges Saturday night, Wilkie said. Houle was arrested at Rosie’s Food and Gas in South Dickinson. He was taken to the emergency room because of injuries caused in an alleged fight with the owner of the house. That earned him a Class B felony criminal mischief charge. While being arrested, he allegedly spit on officers, earning him a Class C felony contact with bodily fluids charge.
* Two Dickinson State University football players were arrested for fighting early Sunday morning near campus, Wilkie said. Myren Moore, 21, and Austin Root, 19, allegedly fought over Root’s excused absence due to illness at the football game Saturday afternoon. Moore felt that Root should not have attended a dance later that evening if he was too sick to attend the game. The two fought at the dance and then later on street, where officers eventually caught up with them.
