The second annual Forage Beef and Cover Crop Workshop will be held Wednesday, Sept. 16 at the Dickinson Research Extension Center.
The workshop will give producers and participants a close look at research being conducted at the DREC. Cooperating with the DREC on research projects and assisting with the workshop are the Dunn County, Central Stark County and Western Soil Conservation Districts, plus the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Natural Resources Conservation Service.
The program will begin at 8 a.m. and conclude at 3:30 p.m.
One of the keynote presenters is Gabe Brown, Burleigh County Soil Conservation District supervisor and an agricultural producer.
Brown will discuss integrating livestock and no till cropping systems using cover crops. Brown has been innovative on his ranch in the use of no till farming, prescribed grazing systems and cover crops.

Workshop participants also will be given a firsthand look at the new DREC agricultural waste facility. Waste management information also will be provided.
