MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Dickinson State jumped at the opportunity to take part in one more track and field meet before the weekend and showed it needs as much competition as it can get.

"We decided last week that we wanted to get one more in because we lost two," DSU coach Pete Stanton said. "We thought we'd try to get one made up."

The Dickinson State women won just two events - both individual runs - and the men only one at the Cobber Twilight meet at Concordia College on Tuesday.

Kristal Wolf dominated the 1,500-meter run and won with a time of 4 minutes, 50.21 seconds. She also took fourth in the 800 with 2:21.13.

Keneisha Miller was DSU's only other women's winner with a 57.67 time in the 400.

DSU's men's 800-relay team of Mike Laducer, Sean Pickstock, Arnold Sibanda and Edwin Rohoh out-paced the field with a time of 3:19.95.

The Blue Hawks left some of their heavy hitters at home and Stanton said it began to show.

"I'm still a little concerned with our team maturity," Stanton said. "We need to be able to handle some adversity better and I think that will come with some leadership as well. ... I was pleased with the improvement we showed over last Saturday."

DSU has a busy week ahead.

The Blue Hawks travel to the North Dakota State Invitational on Saturday and send seven athletes to the University of Kansas Relays.

Then on Sunday and Monday, DSU competes at the Dakota Athletic Conference Multi-Championships at Jamestown College.
