Driver in Highway 81 rollover crash dies

FARGO -- The Fargo Police Department says the driver of the pickup the rolled into a pond along Highway 81 on Sunday has died.

Deputy Chief Joe Anderson says 18-year-old Damber Chauhan of Grand Forks was the driver of the pickup. Anderson says Chauhan was transported to a local hospital for his injuries, where he later died. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of his death.

Anderson says a passenger in the pickup, 25-year-old Kunal Tamang of Grand Forks, was located at the scene near Hector Airport. A second passenger, who walked away from the scene, called the police department this morning.

Anderson says the cause of the crash and contributing factors are still under investigation.
