BISMARCK (AP) -- A Dickinson State University business promotion program intends to look for taxpayer help to close a $92,000 deficit.
Dickinson State hosts the Business Challenge program each summer for high school students and elementary and high school teachers.
Students use computer simulations to start their own businesses, and get advice for writing marketing plans.
Donations and fees haven't been covering the costs of putting on the week-long program.
Dickinson State official Steve Glasser plans to ask the state Commerce Department for a $50,000 grant, to be matched by $100,000 in private fundraising. And he wants to ask the Legislature for a $100,000 subsidy over two years.

Glasser says the changes would cover the program's current expenses and pay off the $92,000 debt within three years.
