DSU men's, women's golfers win at Minot State

MINOT -- Dickinson State women's golfers Megan Fisher and Leah Grinsteiner finished first and second individually at the Minot State Invitational golf tournament.

MINOT -- Dickinson State women's golfers Megan Fisher and Leah Grinsteiner finished first and second individually at the Minot State Invitational golf tournament.

"It was a big win for us, both men and women. We were really excited to win on both sides," Blue Hawks coach Tim Daniel said.

The two-day meet was held at Souris Valley Golf Course on Sunday and Minot Country Club on Monday.

Both the Dickinson State men's and women's teams came away with victories too. The Blue Hawk women beat Jamestown College 720 to 725. The men edged host Minot State 614 to 616 over the two-day tournament.

All five of the Dickinson State men finished in the top 11. Craig Gaube (153) finished in a tie for fourth, Carter Hilkewich (154) ended in a tie for sixth, T.J. Poulsen (156) tied for eighth, Jake Fladeland (157) was 10th and Zared Lefor (158), whose score did not count toward the team total, was 11th.

Lyndsey Kent was ninth for the Dickinson State women with a 180.
