DILLON -- Dickinson State's women's basketball team was sizzling Saturday night.
Dickinson State shot 9-for-11 from 3-point range in the second half as the Blue Hawks rebounded from Friday's loss at Montana Tech for a 61-55 nonconference win over Montana Western at Straugh Gym.
"Before we were getting good looks," DSU coach Guy Fridley said. "I thought tonight we got great looks."
Brittany Mesa sank four 3s and scored 16 points to lead the way for DSU (3-10). Juliet Masei added three long balls and scored 15.
"We slowed down the tempo a bit and tried to get better shots," Fridley said.

"Dickinson was on fire," said Western coach Kevin Engellant. "They couldn't make a shot last night. Tonight they couldn't miss."
In all, DSU made 11 of 18 from the 3-point line.
"Every time we'd make a little run, they'd hit a big shot," Engellant, whose team fell to 10-2 with both losses coming to DSU. "They had several kids who stepped up and hit some tough shots."
Kelly Pankratz scored 10 points to lead the Bulldogs. Genna Rucker and Jamie Lake each scored eight.
"In the first half offensively we really struggled," Engellant said. "They pressured us and we had too many turnovers."
