Eleanor Ludwig, 88, Dickinson, formerly of Richardton, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2007, at St. Joseph's Hospital and Health Center, Dickinson.

Eleanor's Mass of Christian burial is at 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 17, 2007, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Richardton, with the Rev. Boniface Muggli as the celebrant.

Internment is in St. Mary's Cemetery, Richardton.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with a rosary and vigil at 3 p.m. with Deacon Bob Stockert presiding.

Visitation continues one hour prior to service at the church on Monday.

Eleanor Boehm was born on Dec. 18, 1918, on the family farm near Richardton, the daughter of Joseph and Marian (Mischel) Boehm. She was raised and educated in the Richardton area.

Eleanor married George Wanner on Nov. 15, 1938, and they farmed together south of Antelope. George died on July 23, 1959.

Eleanor married Melvin Ludwig on July 20, 1968. He was the manager of the Farmers Union Elevator in Richardton. Melvin died April 4, 1976.

Eleanor moved to Dickinson in October 2003. She was a member of the Richardton Christian Mothers, Antelope Homemakers Club, Dickinson Senior Center and AARP. She also did volunteer work for RSVP for many years.

She enjoyed quilting (her children and grandchildren all received from her), crocheting, gardening and playing cards. Eleanor loved to travel, making many tours by bus and flying to several countries.

Her family was very important to her. She loved to cook for them and have all around.

For many years, she cooked for the Assumption Abbey. Most recently, she was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson.

Eleanor is survived by her seven children, Clyde (Shelly) Wanner, Dickinson, Deanna (Jake) Senger, Dodge, Karen (E.J.) Buckardt, Stanwood, Wash., Sandra Angel, St. Maries, Idaho, Marvin (Charlotte) Wanner, Corpus Christi, Texas, Lucinda (Tim) Messer, Richardton, and Georgia "Amanda" Kavenaugh, Texas; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; four stepchildren, Kay (Jerry) Schackelford, Alta Loma, Calif., John (Cheryl) Ludwig, Chelsea, Ala., Doris (Bill) Hoff, Richardton, and Grace (Ben) Kuntz, Eau Claire, Wis.; sister, Pauline Saske, Reno, Nev.; and sisters-in-law; Florentine Boehm, Dickinson, and Willetta (Dan) Hagen, Kalispell, Mont.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; parents; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike, Joe and Martin (Peg) Boehm; sisters and brothers-in-law, Catherine (Christ) Doll, Cecelia (Walt) Meier, Mary (Sam) Gibson, Kunnie (Stan) Smith and Joe Saske; son-in-law, Bob Angel; stepdaughter, Mary; and stepgrandson, Andy.
