Stark County Emergency Management announced Monday the lift of the burn ban over Stark County that has been in effect since July 24.

Stark County commissioners and emergency response officials are appreciate of the overwhelming support and adherence during the burn ban.

Citizens are reminded to contact Stark County Dispatch before a controlled burn is started so that emergency responders are not dispatched for reports of a fire when it is a controlled burn.

Be prepared to give your name, contact number, location of the controlled burn and anticipated duration of the burn.

Controlled burns must be physically monitored at all times. Once the fire has been started, do not leave until the fire is completely out. After the burning is completed and the fire is out, again contact dispatch to inform them of completion. Stark County Dispatch can be reached at 456-7759.
