FARGO (AP) -- Fargo police have identified the 17-year-old who died when the car in which he was riding crashed into a tree.
The Fargo Forum reports that Tyler Tweten was in a car carrying three male passengers and driven by a 16-year-old girl. As the driver was turning left, the vehicle slid into a tree at about 1:08 a.m. Saturday.
Police are investigating to determine whether alcohol, distraction or the driver's lack of experience contributed to the accident.
The driver, Tweten and another passenger were taken to a hospital, where Tweten died. A third passenger fled but was tracked down by police. He wasn't injured.
