BISMARCK -- The top seed from the East Region, Fargo South was on the verge of being upset in the Class A dual quarterfinals Thursday at Bismarck Civic Center.
Bruins senior Lee Gullickson helped flip the momentum.
Gullickson scored a 7-6 decision at 152 pounds, the third-to-last weight class in the dual. That win helped South score the final 10 team points as the Bruins rallied for a 37-31 victory against Mandan at the North Dakota state wrestling tournament.
"I was really nervous," Gullickson said. "I knew if I lost the match we could probably lose the dual. But that helped me focus more on my match."
South (16-2) wrestles Grand Forks Red River (16-4) today in the state semifinals. Wahpeton (15-3) faces eight-time defending dual champion Bismarck (18-0) in the other semifinal.

Wahpeton trailed Belcourt 24-17 through seven matches. However, the Huskies scored a technical fall followed by six consecutive falls to score the final 41 points in the dual.
No. 1-ranked and West Region dual and individual champion Bismarck rolled to a 54-16 victory against West Fargo. The Demons have won their last 118 consecutive duals.
