BISMARCK (AP) -- U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan plans to make his first visit to North Dakota.

The Education Department says Duncan is to visit the New Salem-Almont High School in western North Dakota on Tuesday.

He and Rep. Earl Pomeroy, D-N.D., will host a discussion about rural school issues.
