Fire danger remains high

BISMARCK (AP) -- It was another wet spring in North Dakota with a lot of flood threats, but weather officials say parts of western and central North Dakota are now dry.

BISMARCK (AP) -- It was another wet spring in North Dakota with a lot of flood threats, but weather officials say parts of western and central North Dakota are now dry.

The National Weather Service is warning that conditions are ripe for grass fires because of the dry conditions, along with expected warm temperatures and low humidity.

Strong winds from the west add to the danger, according to the service.

A "red flag" warning is in effect for the Dickinson area until 6 p.m. because of "critical fire weather conditions, according to the NWS.
