Florence Kollman

Florence Lettie Hunt Kollman, 93, Bismarck, died March 15, 2009. Services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday at McCabe United Methodist Church, Bismarck, with Rev. Art Scanson officiating. Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.

Florence Lettie Hunt Kollman, 93, Bismarck, died March 15, 2009. Services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday at McCabe United Methodist Church, Bismarck, with Rev. Art Scanson officiating. Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Florence was born April 19, 1915, in River Falls, Wis.,, the daughter of Robert J. and Clara A. (Badger) Hunt. She was raised and educated in Saskatchewan, Canada, Washington State and Valley City, N.D. She attended Valley City Teachers College for three years and later received her bachelor of science degree at Ellendale Teachers College.

Florence had a full and active life. She taught school in various areas of North Dakota including Lakeside, Edmunds, and Rock Lake, before marrying Marvin L. Kollman on Dec. 20, 1940. She then taught at Kindred, Page, Kensal, Drayton, Brampton, Cogswell, Scranton, Killdeer, and Mandan for a total of 38½ years. She was a member of McCabe Methodist Church where she taught adult Sunday School for more than 25 years. She was active in Christian Business Woman's Club, Golden K's, and many Bible studies, both as teacher and student. She was a member of the Mayflower Society and Daughters of the American Revolution.

Florence, now with her Lord Jesus, is survived by her daughters, Peggy (Jim) Harms, their children, Scott (Jess) Harms, Tami (Bryan) Kurtyka, Allan (Paula) Harms, Kristy (Eric) Jorgenson; Gwen (Phil) Martin, their children, Chad and Darcie (Derek) Sell; Marvel (Ed) Pavlicek, and their children, Missie Bertelsen (Randy Schmidt) and Allison (Joe) Caspers; her sons, Kent, and Robert, and Robert's children, Mike (Bonnie Barker); Curt (Holly), and Doug; daughter-in-law, Kathy; 10 great grandchildren; one sister, Virginia LaQua, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Percival Warriner; one brother, Robert W. Hunt; one sister-in-law, Emily (Steinley) Hunt; one brother-in-law, Paul LaQua; one stepsister, Ruth (Warriner) Burke and great granddaughter, Chrissy Bertelsen.
