TWIN BUTTE (AP) -- Authorities are reviewing a drunken driving charge against a woman released from prison about a month ago after serving time for stealing money from the Twin Buttes school.

Melissa Starr was arrested March 22. Authorities said she stopped her van in the wrong lane on state Highway 200 near Halliday, causing another driver to crash into her in darkness and fog.

Dunn County Sheriff Larry Boepple (BEP-lee) said Starr's passenger, Beverly Lone Bear of Twin Buttes, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Starr is due in court April 15. Assistant U.S. Attorney Clare Hochhalter said her probation conditions bar alcohol or drug use for 18 months after her 18-month prison term. He said Starr's probation officer is reviewing the case.

Starr pleaded guilty in 2007 to stealing about $300,000 from the Twin Buttes school while she was president of the school board.
