Fort Berthold man sentenced for sexually abusing sleeping girl

A Fort Berthold man was sentenced Wednesday for sexually abusing an individual incapable of consenting because she was asleep, the U.S. attorney for North Dakota announced Friday.
Richard Staples, 24, will serve five years and four months in federal prison. He committed the crime in May 2013, according to a release from U.S. Attorney Tim Purdon’s office.
