Kim and Shelly Olheiser of Dickinson have expanded George's Tire Shop by adding a location in Killdeer.
They can now provide "a little quicker service for our clients in the area," Kim said.
The area had a need for a tire shop, he added.
"There was a demand for oilfield work," Kim said.
Work on farm equipment was also needed, he added. They had clients in Killdeer prior to opening there, but have gained new ones since they opened, Shelly said.
Staff at George's Tire change and balance tires for their customers. They service everything from cars to tractors.
"If there's a tire on it, they do it," Shelly said.
Their "excellent service" makes them stand out, she said. They can respond quickly and get it done within an hour, Shelly added. If they don't have the particular tires a customer is looking for, they'll get them, Kim said.
"Within a day or two we can pretty much get any tire you need," Kim said.
For customers who need more then their tires fixed, Larry's Alignment is also located at George's Tire in Dickinson. Larry Olheiser, Kim's brother, has operated the business for about 10 years.
George's Tire has three service trucks so they can go to their customers who are unable to get to them. They will go anywhere they're needed.
"They go to South Dakota, they go to Montana, they've been to Wyoming," Shelly said.
The business was started about 60 years ago by Kim's father, George Olheiser, who recently passed away, Kim said.
He and Shelly took over the business about two years ago and made a few updates, but George continued working there until he passed away.
"He kind of was the one who did all the odds and ends, ran the errands and had the knowledge," Shelly said. "He was still changing tires, too."
She added they have hired extra help, but George has "big shoes to fill."
George's tire is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
"They also do after hours," Shelly said.
If somebody needs them in the middle of the night, they'll respond, she added.
