Dickinson Catholic Schools has named Rick Gordon its new activities director.

Gordon, who has been at Trinity for 19 years, replaces the outgoing Brad Foss, who accepted a position in Hazen.

"Activities with students, that's what intrigued me about the job," Gordon said. "This was a way for me to get back into athletics, along with the fine arts end of it, too."

Gordon has spent 18 years of his tenure at Trinity coaching different sports including football, junior high basketball and track and field. He was the girls track and field coach for 13 years up until 2006.

With his new duties that he expects to start right away, Gordon said he doesn't know if he'll end his coaching career.

"I don't know where that will stand," Gordon said. "As of now, I won't coach in the fall or winter. Spring does lighten up."

Trinity has enjoyed plenty of success over the years in all of its activities, and Gordon said he's just hoping to continue that.

"My job is to assist our coaches," Gordon said. "We have one of the best coaching staffs in any school. I don't look at it as taking any new directions.

"If it isn't broke, don't fix it."
