GRAND FORKS (AP) -- City staff in Grand Forks are recommending speed limit increases on some streets.
One of the bigger changes would be on Belmont Road, used by many north-heading commuters from the city's south side. South Washington Street and Gateway Drive also might be affected.
City Traffic Engineer Jane Williams says the speed limits posted on the streets being targeted are more appropriate for residential streets than for main thoroughfares.
The possible speed limit increases are 5 mph. The City Council will have the final say.
