DILLON, Mont. -- If the Dickinson State men's basketball team is going to have any more losses, coach Ty Orton wants them to look like this.

Despite playing hard-nosed defense, the Blue Hawks lost their fifth consecutive game, falling to Montana-Western 72-61 in a nonconference game at Straugh Gym.

"We actually played really well. We finally played the way we used to," Orton said. "That's the big thing. We played hard, we played as a team. We cared. It was a really good thing. We'll take that loss if it gets us back on track to play good and doing things right."

Sean Burnham, Ervin Belton and Ryan Bogner each scored 12 points for the Blue Hawks (6-6). Burnham played all 40 minutes and added four assists.

"Burnham just did everything," Orton said. "He played his tail off."
