MINOT -- Considering the wet and windy conditions at the Minot Country Club, Dickinson State golf coach Tim Daniel was not surprised that his top two clutch golfers walked away with the best scores Monday.
Lyndsey Kent clinched medalist honors at the Minot State Invitational with an 87 on Monday, bringing her overall score to 83-87-170 and winning the tournament by eight strokes.
"Lyndsey had a great weekend and played really well ... and just battled the conditions," Daniel said.
The Blue Hawk women also clinched a victory with a team score of 368-399-767 without standout freshman Kelsey Boedecker, who suffered an injury in a pick-up basketball game, as well as senior leader Megan Fisher, who had to withdraw Monday due to DSU and Dakota Athletic Conference rules violations.
"It was nothing severe on her part, but severe enough where it warranted it," Daniel said.

The Blue Hawks defeated second-place Jamestown College by 37 strokes.
On the men's side, sophomore Terry Poulsen finished with Monday's top score, but couldn't help his team come back from a sizeable hole it dug on Sunday.
Minot State won the final meet of the fall and put itself two points ahead of DSU in the conference standings.
The Beavers had a 13-stroke lead heading into Monday, but Poulsen's 74 and struggles by Minot State's top two golfers helped DSU close within five strokes.
Minot State won with a 296-324-620. DSU finished at 309-316-625.
"We were just one guy short of playing more to our level and we would have caught them," Daniel said.
Beavers sophomores Justin Aberle and Jordan Kelly tied for first, each shooting 72-79-151.
Poulsen and Craig Gaube tied for third. Poulsen finished 80-74-154 and Gaube shot 77s on both Sunday and Monday.
