Helen Owen, 90, Bowman, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007, at the Southwest Healthcare Services Hospital, Bowman.
The funeral services for Helen are at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007, at the Bowman United Methodist Church with the Rev. Val Rush officiating.
Burial will follow in the Bowman Cemetery.
There will be a family and friends service at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 2, 2007, at the Krebsbach Funeral Home chapel, Bowman.
Helen Rosalie Anderson was born on Jan. 31, 1917, in Meriden, Iowa, the daughter of Andrew "Enoch" and Esther Anderson. In 1918, Helen moved with her family to Glenview Township north of Bismarck. She was raised on the family farm near Baldwin and received her education at Glenview Country School No. 2 and Wilton High School.

On April 6, 1945, Helen was united in marriage to Louis Owen in El Centro, Calif., where Louis was stationed with the United States Navy. Helen and Louis then moved to Jacksonville, Fla.
After Louis was discharged from the Navy, they moved back to North Dakota where they farmed near Hensler for three years. They then moved to a farm near Baldwin.
In 1956, Helen and Louis moved to Rolette where Louis began working for the Standard Oil Company as a bulk agent.
In 1958, they moved to Bowman where they have since lived. They also enjoyed a number of years wintering in Arizona.
Helen enjoyed many things in life, but nothing was more important to her than her family. She truly was a devoted wife and mother who took a loving interest in all aspects of her husband's and children's lives. As such, Helen was the very essence of a homemaker. She also loved to dance and play cards. As her family grew, Helen treasured her grandchildren and then great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Bowman United Methodist Church, the Lamplighter Circle and the Bowman American Legion Auxiliary.
Helen will be deeply missed by her husband, Louis Owen, Bowman; daughter, Carol Dilse and her husband Rudy Hofmeister, Scranton; sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Jennifer Owen, Dickinson, Gary and Mary Therese Owen, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; grandchildren, Stuart and Katie Dilse and their children, Jordan, Connor, Warrick and Malachi, Scranton, Philip Dilse, Fargo, Tanya Owen, Dayton, Ohio, Eric Owen and his fiancée Amy Raymond and son Neill Raymond, Mead, Colo., Adam Owen, Dickinson, and Kelly Owen and Kristy Owen, both of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Step-grandchildren, Theresa Hofmeister, Torrance, Calif., Rudy J. and Dawn Hofmeister, Escondido, Calif.; sister, Anette Holden, Billings, Mont., and brother, Aldon Anderson, Baldwin.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Enoch and Esther Anderson; son-in-law, Frank Dilse; sister-in-law, Mary Anderson; and brother-in-law, Vearl Holden.
