The North Dakota Department of Transportation and the ND Highway Patrol clsoed Highway 83 from Minot to the Canadian Border due to zero visibility and dangerous travel conditions at about 2 this afternoon.
Also, Highway 37 (from the junction of 23 to 1804) is blcoked due to heavy snow drifts in the driving lanes making the road impassable.
Other closures, advisories and alerts include:
· No travel advisory is in effect for the northwest portion of the state including the cities of Minot, Kenmare, Mohall, Bottineau, Williston, Watford City, Crosby, Bowbells, Tioga, Stanley, New Town, Parshall, Garrison and surrounding areas due to areas of zero visibility from blowing and drifting snow.
· The eastbound lane of Highway 1804 is temporarily closed, east of Williston due to a traffic incident. Eastbound traffic is not permitted onto 1804 at Williston at this time.

· No travel is advised in the westbound lane of 1804 as areas of zero visibility from blowing and drifting snow is making travel difficult.
· A travel alert is in effect for Towner, Velva, Harvey and surrounding areas. Motorists should be advised that road conditions may change rapidly due to snow and ice, and blowing and drifting snow is making travel difficult.
· A travel alert is also in effect for Beach, Belfield, Killdeer and surrounding areas. Motorists may experience areas of reduced visibility due to blowing snow and drifting snow and areas of dense fog.
