According to a Department of Transportation release, U.S. Highway 85 near Theodore Roosevelt National Park has been temporarily closed.
Due to recent rains, detours are in place approximately 16 miles south of Watford City and motorists should use alternate routes on the following highways:
- Traveling from Interstate 94 to Watford City or Williston, detour on N.D. Highway 22 through Dickinson or N.D. Highway 16 through Beach.
- Traveling from Williston to Beach, detour on N.D. Highway 68 near Alexander, then N.D. Highway 16 to I-94.
- Traveling from Williston to Dickinson, detour on N.D. Highway 23 near Watford City to N.D. Highway 73 and to N.D. Highway 22 to I-94.

- Motorists in the Watford City and Manning areas, detour on highways 23, 73 and N.D. Highway 200.
Highway 85 is expected to be opened Monday.
