SPEARFISH, S.D. -- Dickinson State's bats were on fire Saturday and there was nothing Black Hills State could do about it.

The Blue Hawks hit four home runs and outscored the Yellow Jackets 22-0 in their Dakota Athletic Conference softball doubleheader.

DSU won the first game 4-0 thanks to solo home runs from Tayna Saatzer and Jenna Egger - the first of the season for both - and a two-hit performance by pitcher Meghan Shaw.

"Anytime you can get home runs in this game, it's very crucial," DSU coach Guy Fridley said.

In the second game, Danielle Abrahamson and Ashley Neufeld each had three-run homers in the third inning as the Blue Hawks (17-5, 7-1 DAC) piled on the runs.

"We can go up and down the lineup, we always have a chance for someone to go hit one," Fridley said.

DSU hosts Black Hills State in a doubleheader at 1 p.m. today at Gress Complex.
