Horse possibly shot to death near Bismarck

BISMARCK -- The Burleigh County Sheriff's Department is investigating the death of a horse, which may have been shot.

Sgt. Mike MacDonald said the horse was found dead in a pasture on the 8300 block of Apple Creek Road on July 17.

MacDonald said the veterinarian assisting with the investigation believed the horse may have been shot about four days prior.

A neighbor had seen the horse in good health on July 13, MacDonald said.
