BISMARCK (AP) -- The Central Dakota Humane Society says it has rescued 34 dogs from a regional breeder, many of which were on poor health.
Shelter Director Sue Buchholz says the society made a special arrangement to buy the dogs for $100 each. She said nine are at a shelter in Jamestown and 25 are at the shelter in Mandan.
Buchholz says many of the dogs have "really, really bad teeth" and tangled hair.
She says the dogs are being groomed and checked out by a veterinarian.
