Rain threatened to postpone another Dickinson girls tennis match Thursday, but the nasty weather subsided and the Midgets created their own lightning, sweeping Bismarck High 9-0 in West Region action.

"It started out a little cool and damp and everything," Dickinson assistant coach Jodeen Meyers said. "Considering the wind and the weather, they still came out and did what they needed to do."

Midgets head coach Kristal Fields was ill and didn't attend the match.

She missed a solid performance by her team, which improved to 4-0 this season.

Dickinson senior Kendra Hutchens had a solid day, defeating Katie Deisz 6-2, 6-0 in their No. 2 singles match.

Hutchens and teammate Sara Anderson then defeated Carly Haugen and Katy Nord 6-2, 6-0 in their No. 3 doubles match.

"She had won that incredible match a couple days ago being sick," Meyers said. "She was feeling better today and it showed. She had a real solid performance."
