Interim president named for Bismarck State

BISMARCK - Bismarck State College’s executive vice president, David Clark, will take the reins at the school while its president, Larry Skogen, serves as interim chancellor for the North Dakota University System.
The State Board of Higher Education confirmed Clark’s appointment during a meeting Friday. Skogen recommended Clark for the interim president position.
In his recommendation letter, Skogen wrote that several university faculty, staff and students had ā€œoverwhelmingly mentionedā€ Clark as the logical choice for the appointment.
Clark has been with Bismarck State since 1990, when he accepted a position as vice president of operations. He has since been promoted to vice president of operations and corporate and continuing education and to his current position as executive vice president.
A New England, N.D., native, Clark earned his associate’s degree at Bismarck State before earning his bachelor’s degree at the University of Mary and MBA at the University of North Dakota.
He previously worked at Basin Electric and the state’s Office of Management and Budget.
Both interim terms start Nov. 1 and go through June 2015.
