JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) -- The hospital in Jamestown is delivering a record number of babies.

Jamestown Regional Medical Center Family BirthPlace Manager Emily Woodley says there have been nearly 350 births this year and about another 30 expected by the end of the year.

Woodley says people are having larger families. The Jamestown Sun reports that the closure of other obstetrics units in the region could be another factor for the increase at the Jamestown facility. Some western oil patch workers also are taking up residence in Jamestown and commuting.
