Jetliner lands in Bismarck after woman dies on board

BISMARCK -- A commercial airplane headed from Newark to San Francisco made an emergency landing at Bismarck Municipal Airport on Saturday afternoon after an 83-year-old California woman died on board.

BISMARCK -- A commercial airplane headed from Newark to San Francisco made an emergency landing at Bismarck Municipal Airport on Saturday afternoon after an 83-year-old California woman died on board.

Bismarck Police said a passenger noticed the woman fall asleep and begin to turn blue during the flight. Crew members and passengers attempted to revive her with CPR and a defibrillator as the plane landed.

The deceased was transported to a local funeral home, police said.
