YANKTON, S.D. -- Sergio Campos Jimenez finished second at the Mount Marty Invitational cross country meet and five Dickinson State men's runners finished in the top 20 to secure the team victory for the Blue Hawks.
"We needed to get out and run and get out of our comfort zone," DSU coach Thadd O'Donnell said. "It fell together a little bit."
Jimenez finished with a time of 25 minutes, 22 seconds. Porfirio Parra was eighth at 25:58 and John Kungu was ninth at 26:03.
O'Donnell said the final mile was big for the Blue Hawks.
"That's when they were emptying their gas tank was at the end there," O'Donnell said.
