John Canerot

John Michael Canerot, 45, Richardton, died suddenly on Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, at the Richardton Memorial Hospital. Mike's funeral service is at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with the Rev. Tim Voth officiating.

John Michael Canerot, 45, Richardton, died suddenly on Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, at the Richardton Memorial Hospital.

Mike's funeral service is at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with the Rev. Tim Voth officiating.

Interment is in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Richardton.

Visitation is from 5-9 p.m. today at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with a prayer service at 6 p.m.

Visitation continues from 8 a.m. until service time on Friday.

John Michael Canerot was born on Jan. 8, 1963, in New Orleans, the son of John G. and Anne (Mitchell) Canerot.

He was raised and educated in Louisiana, having graduated from St. Paul High School, Covington, La., in 1981.

Mike went on to attend Nicholls State College, Thibodaux, La.

Mike worked for his father's company, River Parishes Co., Inc., from 1982 until 1984.

Mike joined the United States Air Force on April 19, 1984, and served honorably until April 30, 2004.

While in the military, he served in Germany, Korea, England and the Azorean Island as an addiction counselor.

Mike married Tonya Shaw on Dec. 21, 2003, in Las Vegas.

They moved to their "hobby farm" north of Richardton on March 1, 2004.

Mike was working for Black Hills Trucking from 2004 until the time of his death.

Mike was mechanically inclined and enjoyed working on various projects and doing the chores associated with their farm.

He loved to cook for his family and enjoyed traveling and vacationing with his wife and daughters.

Mike is survived by his wife, Tonya; their two daughters, Sierra and Erica, all of Richardton; his parents, John and Estelle Canerot, Pensacola, Fla.; two sisters, Michelle Canerot, Montreal, Canada, and Estelle Gille, Pensacola; and his nephew, Faivre Gille, New Orleans.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Anne.
