Juletta, or Jolly as most of her family and friends called her, was born on April 4, 1919, in Eden Valley, Minn., the oldest of 12 children to Matt and Cecilia (Kron) Schreifels. She grew up helping her parents with their fishing and camping business, cleaning cabins, guiding fishermen and cooking for their guests at the resort.

Jolly attended country school through the eighth grade and graduated from the Eden Valley High School in 1938.

After high school she worked as a nanny and in a department store, where she did some modeling for a clothing outlet in St. Paul. It was there she met her future husband, Herman Florian.

They were united in marriage after Herman returned home on a leave from the service on Dec. 27, 1944. After the birth of their first child, Judith, the family moved to Dickinson, where they have made their home and raised their children.

She was a life-time member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Jolly enjoyed music, cooking and playing bridge. She has a wealth of good friends, family and children. Jolly always enjoyed being crafty and had given many jewel-covered vases and trees she had made to friends and family. Jolly has passed on her sense of style and love for cooking and enjoying fine food to all of her children. Family gatherings are always gourmet adventures, filled with laughter, music and dance.

She is survived by three daughters, Judith Florian, Jamestown, Jean Johnson, Clearwater, Minn., and Janel Lemons, Portland, Ore.; two sons, Mark Florian, Costa Mesa, Calif., and Michael Florian, Newcastle, Wash.; a sister, Cecila Lawson, Tampa, Ariz.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herman; four brothers; and six sisters.
