BISMARCK -- A Killdeer man was charged Friday in South Central District Court in Burleigh County with promoting sexual performance by a minor, a Class C felony. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
According to an affidavit, a then 5-year-old female reported to her mother that Weston Bruce, 28, took inappropriate photographs of her at her Bismarck home while he was watching her Jan. 19 through Jan. 22 when the child's mother was at work. Bruce was the boyfriend of the minor child's mother at the time.
A forensic interview was conducted at Sanford Children's Advocacy Center, where the child reported the Bruce told her and one of the 5-year-old's friends to take their pants off, according to the affidavit.
He made the children put on a particular kind of socks before taking photos at the 5-year-old child's residence. The child's mother said Bruce had a sock fetish that would sexually arouse him, according to the affidavit.
