BISMARCK - The Legislature remains on hiatus again today but will reconvene on Wednesday, Senate Majority Leader Bob Stenehjem said this morning.

That means committees formally meeting and floor sessions in both chambers, Stenehjem said shortly after meeting this morning with House leaders who are at the Capitol and a phone call with House Majority Leader Al Carlson, R-Fargo, who has been at home since last Thursday due to the flooding in Fargo.

"And barring any big, major disaster in Fargo... we're just going to continue now till the end," Stenehjem said.

The session has been largely suspended since last Wednesday morning, due to flooding in Fargo and several other places in the state. Several committees have continued to meet to consider bills during the hiatus.

Stenehjem said the Legislature should still push for finishing up at the end of April, even though the suspension of formal activity has extended the time they could legally meet into early May.
