The Catholic Conference's Amendment to House Bill 1572 will turn the bill into a mere statement that will not protect innocent children in the womb.
House Bill 1572, sponsored by Rep. Ruby, could very well protect all unborn children in the womb if it is not amended. In effect, the Catholic Conference's amendment would completely undermine Rep. Ruby's bill to protect all unborn children in the womb.
As a Catholic priest, I urge all people of good will to contact your senator to vote yes to HB 1572 without amendment.
