Lillian D. (Buresh) Maas, 86, of Dutton, Mont., residing in Great Falls, Mont., a former waitress, died of natural causes on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006, at a local nursing home.
Visitation will be at Schnider Funeral Home on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. The vigil service will take place at Hillcrest Lawn Chapel on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006, at 7 p.m. Her funeral liturgy will be at St. William's Catholic Church in Dutton on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006, at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery on Thursday at 3 p.m.

Lillian was born Aug. 24, 1920, to Ygnac "Ned" and Annie (Polensky) Buresh on a farm in Dunn County. She married William T. Maas in New Hredec on Nov. 25, 1941, and they farmed in North Dakota until 1946.
They then moved to Miles City where her husband worked on the railroad until 1958, when he was transferred to Harlowton, where they lived until 1962. Lillian was employed as a waitress in both towns. In 1962, they moved to Great Falls and Lillian retired from her waitressing career in 1973. She was a former member of Legion of Mary at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church and a current member of St. William's Church; a member of the Hotel And Restaurant Employees International Union and Senior Citizens.

Survivors include a daughter, Verlie Turville of Dutton; sisters Betty Hammel of Dickinson, Frances Zastoupil of Post Falls, Idaho, and Loretta Praus of Oakdale, Minn.; a daughter-in-law and special friend, Jane Maas of Kingston, Wash.; nine grandchildren, Chris Maas, Marcia Courson, Michele Calvert, Pamela Rampart, Steven Turville, Teresa Turville, Stefanie Stinchcomb, Brian Jay Maas and Jamie Landon-Maas; and seven great-grandchildren, Jake, Jared, Kassidee, Georgia, Ella and Abby and William.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Maas; a son, Harvey C. Maas in 1989; her parents; four sisters; and two brothers.
