GRAND FORKS (AP) -- A Grand Forks man is facing a child abuse or neglect charge stemming from a marijuana-laced cookie.

Authorities say Nathan Bazey's 9-year-old son found the cookie in a kitchen cupboard and ate it.

They say the incident happened in November. A social services report led to a police investigation.

Court documents say the 26-year-old Bazey told an investigator he knew the cookie was in the cupboard but did not know the child had eaten it until later. He says it was an accident.

Bazey is free on $1,500 bail. He's due back in court April 29.
