Delmer Ponga, 27, was allegedly driving 80 mph at 12:20 p.m. in a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro about 25 miles south of Mandan on Highway 1806 when he rear-ended Fort Yates resident Malachi Silk’s pickup, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
Silk, 29, was stopped on the highway by a flag person in a construction zone and was waiting for a pilot car when his pickup was hit. Silk and his passenger, John Henry, 44, were transported to Sanford Health in Bismarck.
Cannon Ball resident Ryan Ironroad, 26, who was a passenger in Silk’s vehicle, was transported to St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck. All victims were wearing seatbelts.
