GRAND FORKS -- A 26-year-old man released into his mother's custody in a federal drug conspiracy case linked in court documents to a Grand Forks murder was arrested Tuesday in Minnesota.
Andrew Robert Wiley is one of eight defendants facing an indictment or have been charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and distribution of a controlled substance.
The defendants are accused of conspiring to distribute more than 500 grams of meth in Minnesota and North Dakota using violence or threats of violence, including "the murder of A.B.F. on or about March 11 in Grand Forks." The reference is likely to the murder of Austin Brant Forsman, who was found dead March 11 at the Flying J truck stop at 4401 32nd Ave. S.
Wiley pleaded not guilty to his charge on April 22, and three days later, Judge Alice Senechal ordered that Wiley could be released into third-party custody with his mother leading up to his trial June 7.
But Wiley was arrested and book in the Polk County jail Tuesday for violating probation in a Minnesota case. What part of his probation he violated is confidential in court records.
