Chris George Anderson, 42, of Lehi, Utah, was traveling east on a gravel road about 3 miles south of Alexander in a 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 at about 11:30 p.m. when he disregarded a stop sign at the gravel road’s intersection with the highway, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol. He turned right onto Highway 85 and into the westbound lane in the past of a semi truck driven by David Lavel Brown, 52, of West Richland, Wash. Brown, who was hauling 140 barrels of crude oil, was unable to avoid a collision. The right front corner of Brown’s semi struck the right front corner of Anderson’s vehicle on the road.

Brown’s truck, a 2013 Peterbilt hauling a 2014 Dragon tanker trailer, and Anderson’s pickup were both totaled.
