GRAND FORKS (AP) -- A former University of North Dakota student accused of marrying a Bosnian woman for money is expected to plead guilty in federal court.
Jeffrey Goble has pleaded not guilty to marriage fraud. Authorities say he agreed to marry 28-year-old Alma Numic for $15,000 so she could obtain U.S. citizenship. Numic has since moved to Bosnia.
They were married at Fairy Tale Weddings in Grand Forks in June 2008.
Goble's lawyer filed a change of plea notice earlier this week. A hearing has not been set.
The charge carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
