Milwaukee man receives 21 months for human trafficking

BISMARCK - A U.S. District Court judge in Bismarck on Wednesday sentenced a Milwaukee man to 21 months in prison, with five years of supervised probation, for human trafficking.
The sentence for Levell Durr was part of a binding agreement between Durr’s attorney and the U.S. Attorney’s office.
Durr’s sentence was on the low end of federal sentencing guidelines for human trafficking, in part because some of the initial allegations - including he had drugged a woman in Chicago and forced her to work as a prostitute in North Dakota - were not included in the charge to which Durr ultimately pleaded guilty.
Instead, Durr’s plea reflected an admission that he had placed multiple online ads selling the sexual services of other women whom he had enticed to come work in North Dakota.
