GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) -- The Montana Highway Patrol says blowing and drifting snow contributed to a two-vehicle crash in central Montana that killed a Minnesota man over the weekend.
The patrol says the 59-year-old man was eastbound on U.S. Highway 87 between Moccasin and Hobson Saturday afternoon when his car hit a snow drift near a bridge. His car hit the bridge guardrail, spun into the bridge and kicked up snow, decreasing visibility for the driver of a pickup truck, which was traveling eastbound behind the car.
The pickup also hit the snow drift, collided with the car and struck the bridge. The driver of the car died at the scene. His name has not been released.
The 33-year-old man from Minot who was driving the pickup was not injured.
