Minnie Goetz

The funeral services for Minnie Goetz, 93, Dickinson, formerly of Halliday, are at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2007, at Stevenson Funeral Home, Killdeer, with the Rev. Aanen Gjovik officiating.

Burial is in the Halliday Cemetery.

Visitation is from 12-7 p.m. on Friday, April 13, 2007, at Stevenson Funeral Home, Killdeer.

Minnie passed away Monday, April 9, 2007, at St. Luke's Home, Dickinson.

Minnie Goetz was born Nov. 8, 1913, to John and Charlotte (Dirks) Goetz on the family farm near Halliday. She grew up and attended local country school, where she learned to overcome her hearing loss that followed her for the rest of her life.

After school, she remained at home in Halliday to help care for her mother. Minnie always lived with in a block or two of her sister Tena (Irvin) Richau and helped raise their family as well as assist with gardening, yard work and various chores around the house.

Minnie lived at her home in Halliday until she hurt her shoulder in a fall. She moved to Dickinson only a few years ago. She lived at St. Luke's Home and eventually considered it her own home.

Minnie enjoyed reading, especially her prayer books, and watching television. She was also a big fan of games, particularly UNO, Skipbo and Aggravation. Minnie had an excellent memory her entire life. Her family always looked to her to verify birthdays and anniversaries.

She is survived by numerous Nieces and Nephews.

Minnie is preceded in death by both of her parents; four brothers, Walter, Alex, Edward and Gottfried Goetz; three sisters, Eugena "Tena" Richau, Tillie Klatt and Pauline Goetz; and one great-nephew, Boe.
